FAQs
LUTs, or Look-Up Tables, are color grading presets that remap the color and tonal values of video footage to achieve a specific visual style or correct color characteristics. They work by applying a mathematical transformation to each pixel's color values, making them compatible with virtually any video editing or color grading application that supports standard LUT file formats.
Colorists and video editors use LUTs to apply consistent color grades across a project or series. Filmmakers use them to establish a cinematic look or emulate the aesthetic of specific film stocks. Content creators use them to apply cohesive visual styles to YouTube videos, vlogs, and social media content. Broadcast teams use technical LUTs to convert log footage to display color spaces.
LUT packs on Envato are delivered as .cube, .3dl, or .look files compatible with After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, and Apple Motion. Most packs include multiple intensity variations of the same grade — typically at 25%, 50%, and 100% strength, and may include a technical log-to-Rec.709 conversion LUT alongside the creative grades. No installation is required; files are loaded directly through the colour grading panel of the target application.
