Does Claim Clear work for any music track?

All Envato music can still be licensed and used on YouTube. If a track isn't Claim Clear ready, you can still use it under your Envato license, but if you receive a copyright claim, you'll need to resolve it manually through YouTube using your Envato license.

Claim Clear is an Envato feature that helps simplify YouTube copyright claims when using Claim Clear ready music.

When you upload a video to YouTube, its Content ID system checks the audio against a database of registered music. If it finds a match, YouTube may place a copyright claim on the video. Receiving a copyright claim doesn't mean you've done anything wrong. YouTube's Content ID system automatically checks music usage to help artists and rights holders protect their work. If you have permission to use the music, the claim can be cleared.

Claim Clear makes this process even simpler. Start by downloading a Claim Clear ready track, then either:

  • Safelist your YouTube channel so eligible claims on future uploads are automatically cleared, or
  • Submit an individual video after a claim appears to clear the eligible claim through Envato.

If you're using a track that isn't Claim Clear ready, you can still resolve any copyright claims manually through YouTube using your Envato licence.

Safelisting your YouTube channel is the easiest way to use Claim Clear.

Once your channel is approved, eligible copyright claims on future videos using Claim Clear ready music are automatically cleared, so you don't need to submit each video individually.

We recommend safelisting your channel if you regularly publish content to a YouTube channel that you own or manage.

If you're creating videos for clients or can't safelist the YouTube channel, you can use the individual video clearance tool instead.

Once a YouTube Content ID claim appears, simply submit the public or unlisted YouTube video URL through the Claim Clear dashboard. If the video uses Claim Clear ready music, we'll process the eligible claim through Envato, typically within a few minutes.

If a track isn't Claim Clear ready, it can't be cleared automatically or directly through Claim Clear.

You can still use the track on YouTube under your Envato license.

  • If you do receive a copyright claim, you'll need to resolve it manually through YouTube by referencing your Envato licence.
  • If the track isn't registered with YouTube Content ID, you shouldn't receive a copyright claim.

You can find your licence certificate in your Downloads page.

If you've used Claim Clear but still see a copyright claim, there are a few possible reasons:

  • One or more tracks used in the video aren't Claim Clear ready. In this case you'll need to dispute the claim via YouTube and reference your Envato license.
  • Your request is still being processed. Claims are usually cleared within a few minutes but could take up to 24 hours.
  • Your video contains additional claimed music or content from another source.
  • The claim was created due to an error in YouTube's Content ID system.

No. Currently, Claim Clear only works with YouTube's Content ID system.

Claim Clear requires an active Envato subscription.

If your subscription ends:

  • You won't be able to use Claim Clear for newly uploaded videos.
  • Your YouTube channels will no longer receive automatic clearance for future uploads.
  • Any videos that were previously cleared through Claim Clear will remain cleared.

You can still resolve eligible copyright claims manually through YouTube using your existing Envato licence certificates.
